April Showers bring . . . . home improvements! Tips for making the most of your time while you wait for the sun to shine. 1. Replace your lamps Are your lamps looking a little sad these days? Brighten up your space with some new ones! This is not only a fairly easy process, but it will really make a difference—especially if your new lamp makes a statement (like if it’s a chandelier or made out of a unique material, such as shell). 2. Make your entrance stand out The first thing your family and friends see when they visit? Your foyer or entryway. That’s why it’s important to ensure it makes a good first impression. Adding a small table with an eye catching object d’art or ceramic will do the trick. Am attractive yet functional umbrella stand and statement coat rack are invaluable too. Keep the area neat and tidy with storage for shoes to maintain the look and feel of the entrance. 3. Revitalize your flooring Changing your floors is a way to really shake up your home’s design, without having to change your furniture or decor. Although we love a good hardware floor, if this is too time-consuming or expensive, we suggest using rolls, such as sheet vinyl. It has a long life and is quite easy to install. 4. Add moulding Adding moulding can make a tremendous difference in a room. As long as it matches the existing aesthetic and architecture of your home, the added touch adds value to any space. We love the look of classic crown moulding, and for a more decorative touch, install picture rails to add further dimension to paintings and art work. |
