Sometimes letting go of things when we’re ready to declutter our homes can be a challenge. When I’m working with clients before they get started on tackling their clutter, they typically feel overwhelmed and stuck. It’s certainly a worthwhile challenge when you get through to the other side no doubt! 1) Ask yourself if you’re somehow using, enjoying or displaying the items you’re deciding on. If they’re just stuffed in a box where no one can see them, it may be time to let go and let someone else enjoy them. 2) Ask yourself if someone else can use these things. If you’re not using them who can? It may be someone you know personally or it may be a charity that is near and dear to your heart. If it makes you feel better to donate to your church yard sale versus Value Village, that’s okay! 3) Make some money by having a garage sale. It does take time, energy and effort to have a sale, but if it makes you feel better to make some money from your hard-earned stuff, then go for it! Call us to help you lighten your load! |
